I'm looking for 1GB of new ram, and was planning on going with 2x512 of pc3200 (for ocing my XP 2600, I've got Kingston Value 2700 in it now) and wasn't sure what kind of ram to get. I can't afford the top end ram (HyperX Ect.) Looking to stay under $230.

I was looking at these on Newegg (they'll be in my new NF7)

Corsair XMS http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-450&depa=1

and http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-449&depa=1

Is there any real difference between these two rams besides the Heatspreader Color (in which case, one is $10 cheaper.

Mushkin http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-310&depa=1

and Geil http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-144-310&depa=1
(Cheapest, but I think I know why.)

i have corsair 512 mb ddr pc-3200 value select and mine runs so good ... dont know if that helps any.. but i have friends who say mushkin has made a little bit more of an improvement in fps wise...

if it counts i bought 2 gigs of dual channel corsair xms extreme memory and it came in yesterday :D

(1) - Corsair

(2) - Geil (might be cheap, but I would buy it over the Mushkin...it's good stuff)

(3) - Mushkin

Honestly, I don't realy expect to go over 210-230 FSB (it's an old thouroughbred core) but I'd like to get relatively high quality without spending $300 on HyperX.

Is the Geil really decent? The timings seemed sorta off, but I don't raelly know. I think I am leaning towards the corsair XMS though.

What about OCZ? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-950&depa=1
It's PC-3500 for less than the corsair 3200. How's it for the price?
