Best video codecs to use?

Pretty self explanitory I think. I'm looking for whatever is going to properly run any video out there, without media player having to try and download the right codecs. I want something professional (especially if I'm going to have to pay for it)... not something like aCe MeGa CoDEczz!!!>!11! Something simple and good.
 
K-Lite Codec Pack 2.52 Standar is what i use and gives nice results, it even installs Media Player Classic which i adopted a while ago instead of wmp.
