big typhoon install, how tight is too tight

Install on the DFI SLI-DR using spare cpu backplate from a busted up old 939 board. So i have the thermaltake H bracket screwed into the back plate, what I want to know is how tight is too tight to screw it down? I have it tight enough that the bracket is bending slightly?

I thought you had to take the backplate off?

you are suposed to take the backplate off.

i tighten mine down till the retention bracket is bending slightley. just a little arc.

I have the stock backplate from another motherboard not the dfi one. guy above answered my querstion.
