Bizarre XP lockup

One of the systems in our house - Win XP Pro SP2 just started locking up today. It is easily replicated, but I am not sure on what the root cause is. Basically if opening i.e. or trying to do an online game like WoW it locks up. Using firefox does not cause the system to lockup.

Playing some local games (non-network) did not induce the lockups. Any ideas on what to check?
 
Remove the side of the case and place the PC in an open area, blow a fan inside the PC.
If the crashes stop or take a bit longer to happen, you have a heat problem.
