I am eagerly awaiting the BF deals to trickle in so I can plan out a new HTPC/Server; and in the spirit of [H]ot deal discussions, wanted to know what kind of new toys some of you were hoping to snag on Black Friday. :D

i'm gonna be after a video card to replace my 8800gts sli setup. Also gonna be after a motherboard, though thats not necessarily a black friday thing. I want off the 680i set but can't justify the cost to transition without a massive deal.

also going to be looking for a receiver that decodes hdmi instead of just passes through, and a sub so i can move my current one to my pc setup

My project is going to be driving by all the stores laughing at the people waiting in the long lines. :p

<$100 1TB HDD, FTW!

edit, long day already and its not even noon.

@ the <$100 1TB HDD

ZZF has it for less than $100 AR. Check out the deals page.

Haha, and at the same time, stopping at sTarfucks to steal their wifi and get deals online.:p

I've RARELY gone out to go shopping for a BF deal, unless said deal was THEUBER. Otherwise I cruise the online deals because the thought of having a thousand people surround me while i wait in line listening to, "my baby daddy just got out the joint, and blah blah blah, and girrrrrlll do you think anyone noticed I just cut a HUGE FART!!"

Well I'm sure we've all been there.

Wow, a 1GB HDD for under $100? That's a steal....

if it was 1995! :p

...w00t, I got a 1GB for free around that time! Still have it sitting in a drawer in my room, has my porn on it from when I was young :D

<$100, NO MIR!

AHAHAHAHAH!!! :D

As for me I was waiting for a second HDD and a new CPU. I managed to score a nice WD drive from the 30% cash back deal, so now all I need is a new CPU. Another thing I would like to keep an eye out (but not actually 'need') would be a new TV. Currently have a 65 inch rear projection Sony that I would like to see replaced with something... less space consuming.

I too have a nice 65" DLP Mitsubishi and i'm not sure i want to replace it. I am already spoiled with 65" and anything smaller for my main set wouldn't cut it. However I agree, the appeal of a large LCD does make me think twice.

Not sure what cpu you're looking for but there were some good deals with that Live 30% cashback offer. Despite it being a used oem cpu, i saw an X2 4400+ 65w for $27 shipped, and that was before 30% cashback ;)

Even though cashback has dropped to 20% i'd bet there's still some good deals on ebay. You may have to check a couple of times a day since the best "buy it now" cpu deals get snapped up pretty quick.

The 65 I have now is a few years old. It has nothing wrong or anything that would make me 'want' to swap it out, yet I find it very hard to fight the urge to buy something new. Last year, for example, Circuit City must have had some crazy deals going down because when I arrived I saw a line of trucks and SUVs parked in front. Each of which was being loaded with some mammoth LCDs and Plasmas. By the time I made my way to the TV section they had nothing left besides some small units.

My intents for going that day was to buy a new digital camera, yet I was somewhat angry I missed out on some great sets. This year I will make it a point to get to CC early. If I see something I like I will buy it without question. If later I change my mind I can always return it.

Oh, by the way. That would be my advise to anyone reading this. Buy up everything you think you 'may' want and then return it if you change your mind.

I have been taking a few looks every now and then. I noticed that the two I would settle for seem to have inflated prices as of late (Q6600, E8400). If one does surface I will be all over it like stink on an ape. :D

After last year's Black Friday deals, I am most definitely not waiting outside in line for any more Black Friday madness.

Fruits of my online labors from last year included a FREE after MIR CoolerMaster Centurion 5, a 22" Hanns-G LCD for $160 after MIR, and a free after MIR eVGA 7200 GS video card. And yes, all of the rebates came.

This year? Probably on the lookout for cheap(er) 4GB DDR2 kits. 1TB drives have hit the $100 mark - looking to score one as cheaply as possible. And maybe a cheap E8500 or Qxxxx processor. :D

prob just games and maybe a psp. nehalem will have just dropped , so no deals there. possibly q9550 or q9650. not going to buy another s775 mb unless great deal on dfi x48 ut or lt for my terciary system.

Also lookin for some cheaper 4GB DDR2 kits; might even get two if the price is right. But DEFINITELY looking for an upgrade to my 7800gtx.... still decent, but it's definitely getting gray in the whiskers.

I bought the GF a cheap dual-core system from the FSFT subforum here. Looking at getting a cheap 19" or 20.1" to go with it.

Might upgrade to a decent mobo if there is a deal, I can't OC my Q6600 at all really. :(

Other than that... HDDs.
