Hey all, as the title says, it's time for me to buy a new television. The old tube is on it's way out. I've been looking at LCD's and plasmas all around, and I'm hoping to find a good 42" plasma screen, but they're all going for close to 2 grand. I don't want to get a no-name plasma. I'm looking for something with 1080i at least, lots of component inputs, and HDMI would be nice.
Last night I went looking around, and actually found a few Toshiba LCD's that caught my eye. How does that one look? Also, I'm curious about some of the rear projection LCD's. I realize that the bulb needs replacement every 5000 or so hours, which I don't see as a huge thing... but they just don't seem very bright.
The main use of the TV is going to be for video games and watching hi-def hockey games, with the potential of getting a media center pc added in the future.
I'd really appreciate any advice you guys have, and bear in mind that I live in Canada, so lots of online places aren't going to ship to me.
