Can I measure GPU load?

While using a given popular CAD program (AutoCAD & SolidWorks, for example) is there a way to see how much work the graphics card (in this case a FireGL 3100) is doing at a particular point in time? Similar to Task Manager, but GPU and Video RAM usage instead of CPU and system memory?
 
Anyone help me out on this?
There is some Pix tool that's an add on to Microsoft's DX SDK performance analysis, but it says coming soon, and apparantly has been coming soon since 2004.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
