will someone explain it to me, i always read how people like to play with it with there X2's, well i have an X2 now, but i don't know what it is or what it does

Simply put, "Which processor [or core] would you prefer to assign this application to?"

A well-implemented OS can load-balance on its own, but this hasn't been a home-user niche before; even workstations, which have been multi-proc for years, rarely run two DEMANDING apps at once- rather, they run single apps that have been programmed to multithread on their own.

Because of that, you have to tell your computer how to split its intensive tasks so that you don't stress one chip while leaving the other idle.

when you set the affinity you go into the task manager and tell it to run a certain process on a certain processor (or core, in this case)

sometimes setting a game to a solitary cpu/core will get rid of some issues some people have.

yea what thay said it pretty much just lets you set what core you want the ap running on
