it looks like the diamond dust is way better than silver the temps on the final page look like a really good water cooling setup. it seems unlikely to me that it would make such a huge difference. any thoughts?

Yes it exists. I have used it and it is awesome! Between AS5 and IC7 (Innovation Cooling 7 karat diamond compound) with my e7300 @ 3.6 with a Xiggy s1283 /w Ultra Kaze 3K, I saw a 3C drop idle and a 5-7C drop during load. It is 92% micronized diamonds. 10 USD gets you 1.5g. And the stuff polishes things really well!

And yes you do have to do it that way. It does not spread at all..... It is thicker than peanut better!

Almost a 20 degree drop under load? This is something [H] needs to test, seriously.

Um, it is not nearly as efficient as that unless if they surfaces had pure diamond between them (and it was solid where they two surfaces were fused together). Unless if you went from use the stock crap that comes with most heat sinks (the silicon shit) then go to IC7, then you can see such a drop if not more.
