My dad bought a $350 Canon photoprinter/scanner/copier/fax etc... After about a month of use it stopped working. He called canon and took it to the shop, it worked perfectly there. Then it would never work at home. I took the thing and gently rocked it back and forth and then it worked again- so it had some kind of loose connection or something. He took it back to the shop and apparently they couldn't or wouldn't fix it.
Now after fighting with canon, all they would offer is to send my dad a refurbished printer. They wouldn't send him a new one, even though he paid list price for it
. So the replacement printer just arrived and it looks horrible. The plastic is very scuffed up and looks visibly dirty/stained in spots. The LCD screen is scratched up. It just appears to be in overall poor/used condition.
Do you see any other recourse for him? It is clear that canon sucks hardcore.
