Cant delete desktop icon

i need to get rid of 2 files on my desktop but they wont go away because they say that another program or application is using it. i need to know the name of a program that will tell me what is using these files. can anyone help? this problem always happens if you restart your computer before downloads finish in firefox

Install MoveOnBoot, and stop rebooting before you finish or cancel downloads
 
theyre the fear single player demo exe's. see what happened was i was downloading one of them but my computer started acting weird so i closed firefox and everything and restarted. so i opened firefox again and tried installing the demo again but it created a new exe. THEN the download was really slow so i just closed everything and tried deleting the exes but now they say theyre in use
