Can't download certain video's from Youtube

Hi I've encountered a frustrating issue here. I have IDM installed (Internet Download Manger) installed and most of the time when I start a playing a video on Youtube an IDM tab pops up which gives me the option to download the video. However, on the odd occasion the tab doesn't pop up and I'm unable to download certain video's.

For example, I can download this no problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HeHJE6CfxGE

But I'm unable to download this which is similar content from the same uploader: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VLFg7-9iRWU

I've tried sites such as KeepVid to no avail. Any help regarding a solution would be much appreciated, thanks. :)
 
Isn't it technically against their TOS to download the videos off of YouTube?
 
The Firefox addon "downloadhelper" can download it.

There are also various greasemonkey scripts from userscripts.org that will do it.

Just tried downloadhelper to no avail. Were you definitely able to download the 2nd link in my original post?

What script would you recommend? Honestly, I've tried multiple add-ons, Keep-vid esque sites and nothing is working.
 
Actually you're right, it didn't work. My mistake. I saw that the bottom was there when I visited and assumed it would work like it usually does. I also tried 6 other scripts that didn't work. hmmmm

I use the "flashgot" firefox plugin but it doesn't seem to work for this video. I could be wrong but it appears to be pulling video from xyz.com instead of youtube, not sure why though.

There must be a tool somewhere that can download the beast. I'm sure someone will have encountered this issue before.
 
I'm sure someone here knows. In the mean time though you could always use a screen recorder like cam studio.

I haven't had any trouble using the Torch Browser, I just click the Media button and it immediately starts. You may have to change the folder; you want to download into.

Hello Buddy.
There are certain reasons why you are not able to download videos from youtube using IDM that's because your IDM might not be registered or you might not have integrated with Chrome or any other browser. If you think IDM isn't working because its extension is not integrated into your Browser then follow below links to get the free extension.
