Careful on the Opteron's

We have lots of results for both CABGE and CABNE, just not necessarily in the opteron packaging, just look at all the 3700+ and 4000+ CABGE's or FX57 CABNE's........

I'm one of the lucky ones that got a CABNE 146. How many other people have gotten lucky with first batch cpu's. Many from what I've read. You might be in it for the e-penis but i'm in it for the value and even the reliability of it. Even if they were to come out with the CABGE and it wasn't going to be equal to the CABNE I'd still jump on it because it has 1MB L2 Cache and it's cheaper than a Sandy 3700 @ 275 retail boxed. I don't have extreme cooling like LN2, DIce, Water, or phase so i can't say "OMG this 0pt3ron r0xz0rz my b0xz0rz!11oenone!!1!1111"

What RAM do you have and what kinda divider are you running? That cant be your CPU temp...what temp do you have? And what kinda cooling? Is that on air?

I'd hope that they beat my frequency, I used air cooling whereas they used extreme.

No background=faster noob. Pure bench rig. I wouldn't be #2 on the ORB for x800pro if I didn't tweak.

a while back, there was a guy who tested a 248, s940. the stepping was CABYE. a few of them seem to have turned up in the s939 opteron line. the one result before was able to do 3.1ghz on water

Damn one that could do 2.8GHz would be a nice upgrade for me from the athlon xp. Anyone know where to get any of them at, or would it be worth it to go with a Venice/SD core? ANd if possible, what would be a good mobo for this proc.?

Seems the proc will work in most any board, with the very most a BIOS upgrade. Alot of people are getting DFI LANparty boards to OC them, although I personally believe DFI is a bit overrated. Not saying its the truth, just saying it my opinion...

As to where to find them...ha...you're funny...get in line.

I received my CABYE Opty 148 from Ewiz Friday and so far have it running at 2750 at 1.36volts OCCT and Prime stable. SI-120
I'll push some more later today.

I'm up to 2816 stable so far at 1.36 volts still! 34-ish idle 44-ish load.
Won't increase vcore until I have to--I'll let you know when I do.

I just got a CABYE and it does 2.8 @ 1.5 (1.6 says CPUz) with my board. Does anyone know how well it OC's on the DFI SLI-DR boards?

From what I have seen, I would say that the DFIs will overclock about 100Mhz or higher for the same chip than the Asus...
That is why I will be selling my premium once the DFI comes, tuesday
