changing my 4890 toxic to ??

i own an 4890 toxic card and i need to change it : some issues with the card latly

so i have 2 options

1- change it with a 192 bit eddition of GTX 460 " from evga sc eddition " and pay nothing

2 - get a GTX 465 SC also from evga and pay about 40$

and are they both faster than my card ? i don't wanna lose performance/

and i will get an Antec 850 PSU just in case.
 
GTX 460 is a much better card than the 465. Avoid the 465.

460 is also easy transition to SLI if you need it.
 
I just went with a MSI 5850 Twin Frozr II from my standard 4890 and I love it. Games are much smoother where I used to have slowdowns.

465 is a POS that runs much hotter and pulls more power than the 460 for about the same performance.

Getting the 460 with no out of pocket is a no brainer.
 
Also, your if your current PSU ran the 4890, then it should be fine with the 460. No need to buy the Antec 850 unless you have the cash to burn.

Actually I'm pretty sure the 460 will consume considerably less power than a Toxic 4890. The Toxic is already OCed a good amount with higher stock core voltage than the reference.

Get the 192-bit 460. It about tied w/ a 4890 in speed but it has DX11 and runs cooler with less power draw. 465 is not worth it, it's basically a hotter 460 with not enough performance boost to justify the $40.

you are aware that this is more of a side grade then upgrade right? the 460GTX is a good card (the 465 is as [H] called it, a green turd)

so short answer is 460GTX. then OC it.
 
ok so we all agree that the 460 192 bit will do it

Check if the gtx465 has 10 memory chips instead of 8. It may be possible to flash it to a gtx470.

it does have 10 memory chips i have checked , is there any link of how can i flash it ?

and i can't get the 1GB 460GTX yet not avilable in here
