Having a bit of trouble understanding what the deal is here. Essentially, the rendering I get with ClearType enabled (this is on XP) in Firefox and IE7 is what's shown on top. The bottom is when font smoothing is reduced to "Standard". The result with "Standard" is well anti-aliased text, and the type of anti-aliasing I want applied to all text. As I understand it, this should be the kind of sub-pixel anti-aliasing I should be seeing with ClearType enabled. Alas, no.
Anyone have any ideas? The PowerTools-esque ClearType Tuner doesn't help me at all, by the way.
