I bought a CNPS9500, I knew I wouldnt be very happy with the light in the fan, but I really like the CPU cooler. Does anyone know a way of disabling the LED with out destroying the fan itself?

Thanks.

On the back of the fan, under the rubber cap (and/or sticker), you'll see the shaft of the fan blades. On that, there is a plastic disc with a slit in it. This disc fits onto an indentation on the shaft, and keeps the fan blades from sliding off the frame. If you remove that plastic disc, then pull the fan blades off, you should be able to get to the LEDs just fine. At that point, it's simply a matter of snipping off one (or both) legs of the LEDs (or unsoldering them, as the case may be).
