i know this isnt the high end stuff like most here have but i currently have this
and a friend is offering me this for 50$
is it worth it, is it even an upgrade? even a slight upgrade?

The GT was the best of the 6600 series. The memory size on your card is less that what you friend has but the clock speeds are godly better. Hence your card runs like 1.5 times better than your friend's 6600.
