Computer constantly hard locking

I had this problem a short while ago where my computer would constantly lock up completely, image frozen and whatever audio was playing would loop like 0.2 seconds of it. This eventually went away and it has now returned

A while back I thought it was my graphics card (which was dying anyway) so I replaced that. I've reseated both my memory and my graphics card but the problem still occurs.

The problem seems to happen most whenever I'm playing WoW (mostly because I'm always playing wow). I've got temp monitoring programs up and nothing is hot at all, everything is running cool and as it should be...

anyone have any ideas?

e6400 c2d
2gb memory (512x2 samsung 512x2 g.skill all the same speed)
gigabyte ds3 mb
radeon 3850 pci-e 512mb

I've had this problem on my previous 939 X2 4400+/A8N-SLI Premium system, never did figure out what was causing it... check your power supply, perhaps, run Memtest+ overnight, try Prime95 or whichever you prefer overnight, reformat... problems like this aren't easy to diagnose, speaking from experience.
