So I've got a USB external hard drive--works fine. But I'm already using a ton of USB connections while I have a lonely 1394 port sitting open on the back of my computer. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find firewire to HDD adapter?

The external drive is one of those Metal Gear/Galaxy/Cosmos/Superlink aluminum enclosures.

Thanks!

You would need to simply get a different external enclosure that supports firewire. I use several of this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817106095

I believe this particular model uses and Oxford chipset on it's firewire interface which is a highly stable and reliable chipset. Some people have had bad luck with some firewire capable enclosures. I'm not aware of a USB to firewire adaptor and while there may be one I would not trust that sort of trickery with my data.

Get a different enclosure. It is probably a lot cheaper and easier than trying to find a USB-to-FW bridge.
