I've looked, but have been able to find a thorough and direct comparison between these two heatsinks:

Coolermaster HyperTX 2

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro:

I know they can both be had for around $25 and that the CoolerMaster was previously much less. I don't want to rely on waiting for another deal to pop up, so how do these two compare assuming they are the same price?

Is there something else in this price range that offers better performance?

Thanks!

I think the Hyper TX would be a better choice. There was a small discussion about it versus the Freezer 7 Pro here: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1194768

If you're on an LGA775 mobo, the original Hyper TX (not the Hyper TX2) is on sale at SVC for $15: http://www.svc.com/rr-pch-s9u1-gp.html. I've asked if anyone knows what the difference is between the Hyper TX and the Hyper TX2 is (besides the fact that the latter is universal and the former has separate Intel and AMD variants), but got no response.

Get either, they are both even performance wise.... I was looking up heatsink and found the review comparing these two awhile back, dead even in performance.

The original Hyper TX has a 4-pin fan connector with PWM, while the TX 2 has a 3-pin connector.

BTW, thanks for the link! I couldn't find the original anywhere else.
