Copy Vista DVD

All the install discs are the same (HP, Business and Ultimate), but this is still illegal as far as I know. If you have an MSDN account, you might be able to download images of the various install discs (32-bit, 64-bit, etc)

I believe MS allows you to make just one copy of the original, in case the original fails due to scratches, etc.

I don't have any account with MS. I sold a pc with Vista on it and the disc was lost. It was an OEM version and I am not sure how to get the guy a disc without violating anything.

We could debate all day the legality of the copy, but the disc can be copied easily. The key itself is what determines the legality of the install though, whether you used copied media or not.

Deacon, this is true, you buy the key, and not necessarily the media

It is inherently bootable.

Do a disc to disc and it's duplicate will be bootable.

I use Imgburn to rip an ISO to my hard drive. Then burn it to DVD, works perfectly, boots fine.

Yeah unless has changed recently, MS could care less about copying the disc. It's the keys they focus on.
