I was reading the article regarding IBM warming up to AMD linked from the front page.
http://news.com.com/IBM+warms+to+AMD+Opteron+servers/2100-1010_3-6066330.html?tag=nefd.top
I was under the impression that IBM has worked closly with AMD for years, in fact I beleive they even provided key techonology to the A64/Opteron parts. So this article kinda made me laugh, A cheif server engineer didnt bother to explore technology a division of his company was involved with? I understand the need to segregate large companies into smaller self reliant peices but seriously.
I must be taking this the wrong way, because this has got me scratching my head good.
Any insight?
edit: I knew they worked on something, Strained Silicon, anything else?
