my current rig is in my sig , however i have recently purchased a used 260 and a used 780i board on the cheap and have a 8800gt laying around......
think i have enough juice to not only SLI the 260s but also overclock my e8400 and run a 8800gt for a dedicated physx card?

i know i have enough for the OC and SLI its really a question of is there enough left for a 8800gt?

Yes, should be more than plenty. I had a 965 x4 @ 4ghz + 2x 4870x2's (4 4870's) running perfectly fine.

yeah that psu is enough to handle that setup. you are probably looking at around 500-550 watts load at the most even in the 4 or 5 physx games that will actually use your 8800gt.

ive reconsidered and decided to put the 8800gt on ebay with my old mb and 4gb of my ram, now that i have an SSD for my os and my main games i feel i wont miss the extra 4gb
i can sell the 8800 for 60+ , the ram for another 60+ and the motherboard should fetch me another 40 so between the 3 around 160 should pay for the 80 i paid for motherbaord and get close to covering the cost of an additional 260.
i think i can stand to wait another 12-15 months for hex or 8 core PCs with an e8400 and sli 260s only using 2 dimms on a MB that should have less droop than the board i currently have and maybe i can get closer to 4ghz too

just for the future.
i had a i7 920 @ 4.0 Ghz 1.2 volts, one gtx 280 superclocked, one gtx 280, and one gtx 260/216 all with shaders higher than stock (dont remember exactly) one mcp 355, one dvd drive, one hdd, 5 120mm fans, 1 140mm fan and a fan controller all folding for about 3 weeks straight. this is what i saw

so about 620 watts more or less. that is still a heavy load. a corsair 750 will easily handle that for gaming but folding would pobably be better severed with a higher rated PSU (get back in the sweet spot)

i ended up using the 2 molex to pci adapters cuz i didnt have enought pci express cables on my tx850. i know the molex to pci adapters are no recommended. i dont care i used them anyways and they worked fine. with the set up i had i never got any load near to what i got when gaming
