So Newegg has a 4 GB DDR2-1066 (2x2) Corsair Dominator kit for $189 before a $40 MIR and free shipping (LINK). Is that a good deal? I haven't bought Corsair memory in a long time. The timing on it is listed at 5-5-5-15.

I'm trying to overclock my C2D E6750 beyond 3 GHz, and the Mushkin DDR2-800 I have isn't doing the trick.

ummm a 6750 has an 8 multi

mushkin ddr2 800 runs 400mhz....

400x8= 3200 and your ram wont even be overclocked...

What is your mobo?

I recently tried a 2x2G kit set for overclocking, but recently found the source of my problem and it's my p5B deluxe. Apparently high density chips do not run effectively over 667MHz, So when overclocking I couldn't even get the ram to run at 1:1 ratio and then up it to 800 because the bard doesn't like it. You never know, it may not be the ram at all. Mushkin is a bit of a gem in the industry that no ones heard of, but they send out quality stuff from all I've heard of.

With a set of Mushkin HP 6400's I am stable at 445x9. However, that's about maxed out for this set of ram. The Corsair set looks like a good deal, you may even be able to run it tighter than 5-5-5-15 at a sane fsb. If it comes with the Corsair cooler that's a good bonus:cool:

I am also interested in this set, I could be wrong but I believe it is based on chips using a smaller manufacturing process, 55nm vs 90nm. Anything I can find on the web is positive but 2gb per stick PC8500/1066 is so new that there is not that much information out there. I am waiting for the PC9136 sets Corsair say is coming before I purchase.
