CPU and/or GPU upgrade options

Hey all,

I'm looking to upgrade my rig to make it a little more "current" for gaming and specifically Battlefield 3, Bad Company 2 and Starcraft 2.

I currently have the rig in my sig, and for the specifics:

AMD Athlon II X2 245 Regor 2.9GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core @ 3.4ghz
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
ASUS GeForce 9600 GSO 512MB 128-bit

Basically what I'm looking at is upgrading my cpu to a quad core am3, and getting a more current GPU. I am looking at getting an ATI/AMD GPU because I wanted it to be more compatible with my motherboard for temp readings, etc. If there's a much better nvidia card then I wouldn't have any qualms about getting it instead.

I am looking to buy now, next week, week after, whenever the best deals will be. I would like to spend around 200-250 dollars total. Preferably Newegg, but I'll be happy with Tigerdirect as well.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I went ahead and picked up the x4 925 2.8 Deneb, going to think about the GPU for just a bit longer.
