Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR26400 800mhz $19 AR FS

Caution you run these at 2.2v and they are lasting about 2 weeks... tops... even with fans on them. they probably will do the same speed at 1.8v or tops 1.9v so start low and bump to get them stable....

or you will be RMA'n fast and frequent!

I've run mine for over a year with 2.1v no problem. no OC'ing as of right now though.

Quoted for truth. Mine lasted about a few weeks before I started getting memory errors and bsods after running 2.2v. Seems the earlier batches/memory type of these from couple years back are way different and much higher quality then what are used now.

thats because the new ones werent around a year ago lol, luckily a couple of months ago when i ordered a kit of the tracers i got the double sided ones with 2 rows of led's instead of the single sided ones with 1 row of led's.. yes i got very lucky and they've been working perfectly.

but the new ones are really shit i had a pair and sent them back.

4GB of this in my system. Running above rated frequency with 1.8V and slightly loosened timings.:)

I wouldn't recommend running any ram 2.2v for 24/7 operation where you want the ram to last more than a few months.

I've RMA'd 4 GB of this RAM and 4 GB of the PC8500 sticks in the last 3 months. These sticks die quick, even when running at spec voltage.

still d9gmh?

if not there are still several other kits of ddr2 800 cas4 d9gmh by patriot, wintec, supertalent, geil, etc. that go for less than $60 without a rebate.

I bought these today without knowing so many people were having problems with them.

Fuck.

Edit: Will newegg take it back if it's unopened?

They're cheap as heck. Follow everyone's advice of running them at low voltage and be happy with the good deal. Buy two sets for when the first dies (I didn't check if multiple rebates are allowed).

refuse delivery if you can't.
Will Newegg refund your $ if you refuse delivery? Will they still charge a restocking fee? Should a purchaser contact Newegg and notify them that delivery is being refused?

The ram works just don't jack them up to 2.1 or 2.2v just use 1.8 to 1.9v its that easy... they are not crappy ram they just don't need that high of volts

now take a deep breath!

I emailed them.

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Newegg.

In reviewing your account, we see that your order # 000000 has been shipped out with UPS tracking # 00000000000. The package is in transit now. Please refuse package upon delivery (which is the easiest way and it saves you money on shipping). Once you refuse the package, it will be returned and RMA for a full refund will be issued automatically. If you miss the point of refusing package, please keep the item unopened, we may then issue RMA for a refund without restocking fee.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,"

Susin: From what I've been reading on various forums is that this ram is unstable at lower voltages...

I have 8 computers 3 of which use ballistix and lower volts. YMMV

how do you guys know when a ram has d9gmh chips? its not written in the specs page?
how do you know this?

Run them at 1.8 or 1.9, you'll have no problem.

I run my 4 Tracers at 1.9, 960mhz, 5-5-5-15, 2T. Originally I was running them at 2.0 but then I wanted to try to scale back to 1.95 or 1.9 and found out that 1.9 was sufficient and stable.

same, cept i'm on 2x tracers and 2x ballistix normal, going on 8 months with them in, 1.9, same timings, near the same speed (maybe 900 for me) been stable and without issue the whole time.
