Why the hell is crysis so freaking graphic demanding its impossible to play that game with the settings up, 4870x2s in CF at 2560x1600 on medium settings average of 27fps with no AA. Is this for real? Is the processor a bottleneck for this game? Even no matter what gpus you are running? Anybody that plays crysis if you would like to post what settings you play at, what is your setup cpu ram gpu etc., and what fps you are getting. So we can figure out how to optimize crysis and still get the sick graphics engine it comes with to flex its muscle?

Crysis (specifically) has problems with Crossfire setups. It's an issue with the game, not the hardware or anything.

No im just asking to see what people are playing at, and what there getting like the resolution there hardware and what fps there getting. And it says this
LVL-6 = VERYHIGH (FOR FUTURE Gaming PCs)[CPU]x2-4 [RAM]2GB-4 & up [GPU]8800Ultra & up.

At what resoultion though? 800x600?

I just want to see what the average player is getting, if you care to post please do so.:p

Crysis GPU: 30.66 FPS
Crysis CPU: 29.83 FPS

1680x1050 all High, DX10 and the two default benchmarks. Currently playing Warhead and it's actually acceptable at the Gamer setting (which is also what the game auto-detected as the appropriate setting for my system).

E8400 @ 4.1GHz
4GB Ram
8800GT 20% clocked
1080p

With V2.21 level 4, I average between 30 and 40fps in Warhead.
There are a few times when it runs slow but they didnt impact my gameplay.
I'll do a benchmark too...

Crysis Warhead with "FrameBuffer Crysis Warhead Benchmarking tool 0.16"
CCC V2.21 level 4 config pasted in
Machine spec above at 1920x1080

Crysis Warhead Airfield flythrough
Average FPS: 30.43

Crysis GPU original timedemo with CCC 2.21 level 4 config
Average FPS: 30.93

Edit, oops, I ran those tests on another monitor not my 1080p tv so dont know what res it ran at.
On the 1080p TV I now get...

Crysis Warhead Airfield flythrough with CCC 2.21 level 4 config
Average FPS: 32.78

Crysis GPU original timedemo with CCC 2.21 level 4 config
Average FPS: 33.08

EdgeAA is set to r_UseEdgeAA = 2
Apart from that, you use the in game AA settings to get full screen Anti aliasing.

This must be the 2048507869080234th thread on this topic. Crysis is a game that runs much better on nVidia hardware IMO. My GTX 280's do a great job of making the game playable with amazing visual quality. My brother's dual 4870x2 setup isn't as good at Crysis.

The biggest problem is the poor Crossfire scaling. The 9800/8800-series and the 4850 are quite evenly matched and the 4870 does OK against the GTX260.. But adding another 4870 or switching to the 4870X2 only yields a small performance improvement over a single 4870.

ATI really needs its own high profile next-gen game that runs better on their cards. Crysis is almost the only game that brings even modern systems to their knees, so the fact that it happens to run better on Nvidia hardware really helps them get mindshare and sales in the high-end. I mean if it was some simplistic online game or something that happened to run at only 250 FPS on the 4870 but 325 FPS on the GTX260, it wouldn't really matter, but Crysis needs all the FPS you can squeeze out of your system.

The CCC V2.21 mod is awsome. I've played through Crysis and Crysis Warhead on level 5 @ 1920x1200 on a single overclocked GTX 260 no problem. Talk about visually stunning:eek:

What I find funny is that a year later we're still getting posts about how Crysis at very high settings/very high resolutions still runs like shite even on $5,000 rigs. Ummmmm is this really news to anyone?
