I post here in request of help. Perhaps there is something I'm missing, but if not - I will be returning this router today.

I can not get port forwarding to function. UPnP works fine, port forwarding does not.

I have tried firmware 1.10, 1.11, 1.20, and 1.21 as well as the 1.21b08 firmware.
I have tried disabling wireless and all special security features.
I have tried static ip addresses and dhcp for the client to be forwarded to.

Nothing but UPnP works, and UPnP wont cover all of my needs for this router.

Is there anything unusual about this router I need to know in regard to forwarding? Any suggestions?

If you go to the port forwarding page Name it whatever you want like RDP pick the IP of the computer that you want and put that in the IP address section. Or from the drop down choose the computer name and click the arrow next to it. Either way the IP Address field has to be filled out. Put the port in 3389 in the TCP section. Set Schedule to always and inbound filter to allow all. Finall make sure the check box on the left is checked.

This is all under Advanced > Port Forwarding.

Port forwarding doesn't work on my Dir-655 either. I just use virtual server and it works perfectly.
