Wow i might have to bite on this and sell the 2x2gb in my thinkpad...


Edit: Thinkpad ram is CL7 PC8500, vs this CL9 PC10666 I dont know much about timings, is it worth the upgrade?

is 8 gb overkill for a laptop? if its just simple games and nothing too intensive?

I would have been all over this for my macbook pro so that I could run a full time VM, but the reviews say it's sketchy for the MBP
 
Been waiting for a good price on 8gb, bit for my i5 17" mbp.

From what the reviews say it works fine, but at 1067 speed (ram is rated 1333), which is what I'm guessing is just the max bus speed of the motherboard...
 
The reviews on Newegg showed that more than one person received bad sticks and while they were able to send them back for functional ones, I was turned off by the number of reviews that mentioned the scenario.

Considering I wouldn't be using these right away, I decided to hold off. Just sayin'...
