Dell 3007 and 2005fpw side by side

eh..they have the same resolution, 1920 x 1080

The Dell 2405 has a higher resolution than the Westy 37 1080p

Dell 2405 --> 1920 x 1200
Westy 37 1080p --> 1920 x 1080

:(

I'm still using my 19" CRT monitor @ 1280x800 when gaming so I can pretend that it is real WS.

You must have a great job or have some rich ass parents lol.

I have a decent job... I don't have a ton of bills..and there is thing called Dell credit ;)

How does the monitor look/scale at non-native resolutions, lets say at 1920x1200 or 1680x1050? For 4:3 content, is the 3007 capable of fixed scaling (black bars on the side)?

Ditto. Ulrick28, could you please post screen capture via {Print Scrn] button of the following resolution:

640x480
800x600
1024x768
1280x1024
1600x1200

whenever you have time

I would, especially if it was a free exchange. I give you my 2405 (which i don;t own )and you give me your Dell 3005
Or on the otherhand why not get the 37" Westinghouse? The bigger the better right...? And it's cheaper

I thought in your original post that you were saying "why not get the Westy over the 3007". The 3007 does 2560x1600, while the westy does 1920x1080.

no, that's what i meant. I didn't realize the 3007 does 2560x1600 :eek: I thought it only does 1920x1080

I'm about to order a 2405, it's not about a job, it's about saving... I worked retail for 3 months to save for a new pc and this thing and when they get here I don't care what anyone else has for my college going ass I will love it to death and knowing that the 30" isn't fullt supported makes me feel warm and fuzzy as well.

All nvidia cards equipped with a DVI connection support that natively

both the 30in dell and 37in westy have pro's and con's. you just have to consider what is better for you.

30in:

- pros: nicer screen, higher res, better colors etc
-cons: higher res means higher native res so you'll need a more powerful graphics card. dvi only and higher price

37in:
-pros: larger screen, more inputs, lower price, lower res for lower gfx requirements
-cons: screen is not as nice, ghosting is more apparent

so you have to decide which one is better for you

lol Ulrick.. you are a disgrace...

How can you have that beautiful 30" screen looking all sexy like that yet have a messy jumble of cables under the desk which just ruins the whole scene for me.

1000

very odd res. What screen do you have?
dell 2005fpw
Vmware can emulate screen resolutions in a window, so i have to scroll

but big res=big res
so i'm not complaining

Just so we 2405 owners don't feel so bad, heres the 2405 against the 2005. I feel better now :D
