Dell D/Dock and DVI...

Okay, my dad got a Dell D820 from work along with the D/Dock, Notebook stand, etc.



What we are trying to do is connect the dock to an LCD monitor via DVI output. Thing is, with the cable connected to the monitor and the D/Dock (and obviously the laptop in the dock ) we dont get any input to the monitor.


Is there a function key that I need to press or something?




the work decided not to include the original dell manuals but rather ones that they made - but it doesnt cover external monitors...

if you have the lid closed when you turn on the laptop, the display should go right to the external monitor. if you've got it open, you might need to hit fn+f8 to switch. in windows, it might be a driver option (to enable external display or clone mode)
