I've just recently put this machine together. Windows boots fine, it's the initial boot process that is taking way longer than it should. I turned off the splash screen since it was showing up in the wrong colors anyways. Now when I boot the first few lines of text show up, including the chipset info. About 15 seconds later the worlds "Detecting IDE Drives" pops up. About 15 seconds after that the drives all show up, then it boots normally (quick from there on out).

It was being a little erratic at first. I'd say out of the first 10 boot-ups it booted normally about 4 or 5 times. Since then it has ALWAYS booted slowly like this. I think the slow-boot was permanent after I upgraded to the new bios. Maybe the older bios didn't have this issue as badly? I'm not sure but I hate rebooting because of it.
