Did my CPU just die?

Turned the system on this morning and no signal on the monitor. Fuck.

I swapped out the video card, reseated the ram, unplugged all the hard drives, cleared the cmos. No dice.

I've been running my E6600 at 3.5ghz at 1.5volts and it ran pretty hot (idled at around 50, load around 65). Could I have killed it?

Other specs:
Asus P5W-DH
2GB Crucial DDR2-800
PC P&C 510w


The only other strange thing is that when I switch on the power supply (in the back) the system turns on 2-3 seconds later. Happens everytime. What could be causing that? Could I have a defective motherboard?

edit: stupid question

post beep? fans spin? is there anything that can rule our a b0nked monitor? I know its basic but the cord often comes loose from the back of the monitor, have you checked that?

Fans spin up everywhere, no post beeps. However, I don't think I've ever heard this thing beep. The case speaker might be broken. Monitor cables are fine.

I still can't figure out for the life of me how the system turns itself on when I plug it in.
