Ok so here's the story. I come back home from arizona for break to my old pc. It's running an Nforce2 board with Soundstorm onboard audio. I get it up and running and shortly afterwards the audio will only come out of the left channel. Then shortly after that any sound that gets played gets turned into incoherent popping noises. I tried reinstalling the mobo drivers but that didn't change a thing. Do you think windows is just being windows and messed something up with regards to the audio or did the onboard audio die? I would try another sound system to check but I don't have any soundcards here and my usb speakers are back in arizona so I was hoping someone had run into something similar before so I could know how to move forward with this.
