Difference between these 2 4870's?

What in the world is the difference between these 2 cards?

Obviously the cooler, but what else?

They look the same spec wise.

Got a buddy offloading the more expensive one, doubt it's worth it.
(especially over the xfx at 149)

The first card uses a non-reference PCB, that's pretty much it.

The second card is massively overpriced btw, the 4890 is far cheaper and would be faster.

In the 2nd cards review list a guy says that he went from a gtx280 to an hd4870 and that the hd4870 is more powerful

read those reviews only for humor. I read one the other day where a guy bought a 4890 and installed it on a 3.0 P4 pc.

Could be for the specific game he was playing which might have been more optimized for an ATI card.

more likely the person is clueless. there are people on there that have upgraded from an 8600gt to a 9400gt(which is much slower) and will say there games are faster with the new 9 series.
