What are the advantages of socket 939 boards over 754 boards?

Is it worth it?

Thanks!

If you are upgrading right now socket 939 is a good choice. It offers you dual channel support that the 754 does not have and also allows you to run a FX processor that has the multiplier unlocked and has an extra 512KBof L2 cache over the standard A64 models for a total of 1MB.

Too bad these weren't available to me two months ago as I had to get a socket 940 board to run my FX-53 CPU. I will be able to upgrade to faster Opteron 15X processors later on that are exactly the same as socket 940 FX CPU's but without the multiplier being unlocked. I generally only do mild overclocking with my FSB so that is a non-issue for me.

Socket 939 is a great platform IMHO.
