difficult batch file question

I won't get into all the details, but I am using a script where the hostname directly procedes the batch file so it can be %1'd in a loop. Anyways, I have a registry entry using reg add that has %1 in there, that ACTUALLY needs to be %1, NOT the hostname.

I'm befuddled on how to prevent it from tossing that in there... and keeping %1... %%1?? lol I dunno :\
