display going out then computer freezes...wtf?

I am having some issues with my 8800gts G92 card. every so often when im playing COD4 and BF2 then screen either cuts out,goes blank then the computer freezes or the scrren gets really pixelated with white,red,green and blue squares then the computer freezes. is this the motherboard possibly or the video card?

i upgraded to the latest drivers 180.43 still no change, new BIOS still no change

I had similar issues( except the pixelation ). Seems I managed to fix it yesterday by pulling out all the power cables, both from the PSU and the devices themselves, then reinserting them. Gone a day without a crash now, where before I'd crash within 1 hour of entering a game, sometimes instantly.
