Does GMA 4500MHD HDMI support audio?

Hi notebook pros!

I'm looking to get the Olympic Special Edition Acer Aspire 1410 notebook and I was wondering if the HDMI supports audio?

The chipset is GS45 which uses the GMA 4500MHD graphics. Also, any opinions on how this graphics chipset performs with 1080p files? I'm hoping to use it as my media book where I'll connect it to my 1080p television.

Well I'm setting up this puppy as we speak, I guess I'll report back with pictures and stuff :)
 
I've also kept my eye on the Acer 1410/1810 and the Gateway rebranded EC1400. I like the design of the Gateway better.

If a laptop has an HDMI out port, it will output audio. As for how many channels and whatnot, I don't know about that.

HDMI audio is 2.0 but can support Dolby ProLogic. For pass through 5.1 DTS you need the SPDIF......
