Doom3 modders, in here

Anyone whose ever done a mod with id's softwares or is working on doom3 mods, please get in contact with me (info in sig). I am having a hell of a time adding an alt fire to the game. With quake it was really easy to define your own impulses...in doom3 i cant find ANYTHING on impulses in any of the code. Pretty much until someone figures this out, any hardcore modding will not happen. Please help!
 
where did you find the base code/ resources/ whatever. I didnt feel like wading through a bunch of forums looking for it.

doom3/base, the pk4 files open with winrar
 
i dont see any of the game's source code in there. Does doom3 have a different sytem than quake3 and other past programs?

simply the best doom3 modding forum around.. for anything.

the source code is not available yet, but you can view the scripting events and such by unraring the .pk4 files. All models are in .LWO (lightwave object) format, and pretty much everything else is openable in a text editor.

I meant scripting the whole time, didnt know what to call it. Thanks for the link, although no ones had any question like mine yet. I posted a topic, lets see if they can help.
