Ok, here's the scoop.

Local computer store has some really nice prices on some PC3200 RAM, but all but one of our systems use PC100/133.

PC3200 is really the crappiest we can find anywhere, and the prices are too good to pass up compared to normal prices. It's like $60 cheaper.

Anyway just want to double check whether it will downgrade no problem.

If you're asking if PC3200 DDR will work with PC100/133 the answer is no. PC3200 is DDR SDRAM and PC100/133 is regular SDRAM.

I hope I'm understanding what you are asking correctly.

Yeh after reading for checked out that mine uses SDRAM 168-pin, and the once at store at such good prices are 184-pin.

Thanks for helpin

EDIT: However i find it strange that 1gig of the PC3200, is same price as 512MB of the SDRAM

Not much call for PC100 any more so they can charge extra to carry it at all.

PC3200 on the other hand there's a lot of and high competition between brands.

My guess is because SDRAM probably isn't in production anymore. Supply vs price /shrug
