I'm about to purchase a Zippy 700W, but the downside is that there are no pci-e connectors. Is there any downside to using a 4pin to 6pin pci- adapter?

Where are you buying it from? Those gamer models seem to be popping up, and my 850 non-gamer came with PCI-e connectors.
