Anybody else experience crashes when using Dreamscene? It didn't prove very stable for me in Vista 32-bit.

Going to have to agree with you on this. It has probably been a good decade or so since I even had a screensaver running, and I haven't quite been able to understand the concept of DreamScene, aside from using it to wow some non-computer folks. Call me crazy, but I don't see my desktop often enough to care if it is playing a movie or not.
Dreamscene was cool for a while, but I got tired of the same old animation after a while. There isn't much content out there from what I can find. I also found dreamscene was the root of some problems when trying to load TF2. I believe these were fixed by one of the previous patches, but it was still a pain.
Yeah, particularly with the newer nvidia drivers. Usually on shutdown or when starting or stopping a 3D game.

I would love to use it, and have even paid for some. Just tired of it crashing. Though I blame nvidia.

Though the deskscape versions require installing Stardock's addon, the premium ones in particular are amazing, and use almost no CPU.

If you are running Vista Ultimate you can download their free program that allows you to use the .dream extension as your dreamscene.
You can find some paid and some user submitted dreams here: http://dream.wincustomize.com/ I think you are limited per month or day for downloads.
