Has anybody had problems with Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test ver. 4.0x? Because with some mobos, old and semi-new (Socket A, Athlon XP1800+), during drive detection it either aborts or doesn't detect certain drives. In one case, when I had only a 200GB Hitachi HD installed, DFT ver 4.08 said the system had no IDE drives at all.
It doesn't seem to matter what brand HDs are used or whether they're connected to the mobo's built-in PATA controller or a PCI card controller (Silicon Image, Promise). Each cable has only one drive connected to it, and Cable Select is used.
I've had no problems at all with DFT ver. 3.68 and older.
