What would you prefer to keep for your main pc?

2x20"WFP or a 25.5"WFP?

depends what you will be doing. Lots of editing/design work .. I would take 2 monitors.
Movies+games, one bigger monitor

I more or less accidentally wound up with a 1920x1200 (22" not 24") and a 1680x1050. The monitors are a little mismatched, but this setup works well enough for me.

Best, biggest, most expensive main screen you can afford. Cheapest secondary you can find.

The main screen is where you sit in front it is where your main activity happens. The secondary is just for stuff you glance at occasionally. I have a 24" NEC and 17" Dell TN.

It is not about looking symmetrical in your cool desktop pics, it is about the way you will really use it. Are you going to sit directly in the middle of identical monitors and face directly into the frames where they meet? Unlikely. Get the best screen and sit directly in front of that, what is on the side for checking emails or watching a minor vid is not important.

The exception is if this is a serious work computer for full time coding. In which case I recommend two 20" 1600x1200 screen in portrait mode....

I have had two 20" before getting a single 24", and the dual screen is *far* larger than a single 24", its real estate galore which in turn is suberb for work and heavy multitasking (as said above). For movies and gaming, I am more than pleased with the 24", however, since I also do alot of work with my PC, it would be nice if I have another monitor, be it a 10" I will be happy.

I think dual 1680 x 1050 is not a good alternative to one 1920 x 1200. Dual 1600 x 1200 is :) But for work, not for gaming and movies.

At home I have a single 1920 x 1200 which looks absolutely fantastic for movies and gaming.

At work I have a 1650 x 1080 paired with a 1280 x 1024. I do all my work on the main screen, the secondary is for email and when I need to work on 3 or 4 different documents at once.

All depends on your needs.
