Dual 17" LCDs ?

I want to go dual monitor, something like dual 17" @ 1280*1024. Would I be better off to get a single large WS monitor @ 1680*1050? Trying to do the dual set up on the cheap, that's why I'm thinking 17" instead of 19" or bigger.

Two monitors is more "useful" than one bigger one, and if your system isn't top notch then the ability to run games in a lower resolution and still have them look pretty good is there as well. On the other hand, if your system is up to par and you mostly game rather than design etc., the bigger monitor will better suit you. Plus you can always throw another one in once finances become available and still go dual
