I just (tried to) install one of those cheapie ihos-104 bd-rom drives and I keep getting nonstop system freezes almost anytime I actually use it (access a disc / play a movie). I get this same issue dual booting into XP and Vista. However, it seems to work fine when I tested this drive on another computer.
Is is possible that this drive is somehow incompatible with computer I wanted to install it on (it's the crappy one I still leave listed in my sig
). Any windows fixes I could try or other ideas? Despite the wimpy specs, this rig has run hd movies fine before when I used to use an LG GGC-H20L drive in it, so playing movies isn't the problem.
