DVD Burn Speed - Faster = Data Corruption?

I was told that when I back up with DVD Shirnk I should set Nero to burn at 4X or less :eek: because faster burns cause data corruption and result in poor picture quality.
Whats up? :confused:
I use Plextor and NEC burners, if it matters.
 
Depends on your burner (you have that covered well) and your media.
 
You should burn media at its rated speed, with few exceptions. Some low-quality media should be burned slower, and some high quality media can be burned higher.

However, the rated speed is definately a safe bet.
