DVD player won't play movies.

My DVD player is having some issues, and I am unsure if it's the drive, or a driver issue.
DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD data discs play fine, DVD movies however, don't.
In the device manager I have two entries for the DVD player
One says:
Matshita DVD-ROM SR-8587
The other:
Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Ddevice

And they list as two seperate drives. I have no idea why I am getting two lists. I have never installed Daemon Tools on this build. (Although my brother may have)

Any ideas?
 
I tried both WinDVD and PowerDVD. The system doesn't recognise movie DVDs at all though.

Also, the second drive entry is Daemon Tools, thanks to my brother who will install anything on my system when I am not around.
