E6600 Locked ?? Now I wonder

Maybe i'm just getting my hopes up but Asus has that AI Booster utility and the instructions say that the multiplier will be grayed out if the cpu is locked as most are.
Well the multiplier is not grayed out and it lets you choose. Now is this just a bad program or did asus find a way to unlock the E6600 ?

use crystal cpuid. look on functions/intel speed step. set your multiplier. locked?

1. yes the asus programs are god awful

2. all the c2d chips are unlocked downward. your mobo might not support it in bios but you can lower the multiplier in crystalcpuid
